Misery & Gin

Welcome to miseryandgin.com. Misery & Gin is a song by one of my favourite country music artists Merle Haggard, and I thought it would make a great name for this new site. That’s because this site is about music, particularly classic country music where most of my inspiration when playing guitar comes from.

I’ll be using this site mainly for posting album reviews from various artists, but I’ll also be posting any other related news from the industry that interests me. I hope to get a few followers from this website as I have done with a similar website, so please subscribe to the feed if you like what you see - I also welcome comments on all of my posts. Enjoy.

Yes, Misery and Gin is a fine name for your site. It’s my favorite Haggard song as well. I’ve had a casette copy of Back To The Barrooms for over twenty five years and it still works. I’ll get a CD of it soon.

Merles original version of this song is probably the best he’s ever sounded before or since. It’s much better then the several live recording that have been released, and far better then the re-recording from the For The Record project of a few years ago.
Good luck on your site Guss.

Hi, I think “Misery and Gin” is a great name for your website. I’d like to suggest a band I think would be great to add to your site called “Gypsy Tailwind.” They have a great folk, alt. country sound. You can check them out on their myspace page @ http://www.myspace.com/gypsytailwind
